Fall inspiration

Sigh, it's all so beautiful. Happy Fall, y'all:)

Monday, October 18, 2010

So back in September I went with some fun loving gals to The Petite Retreat. They sell vintage items, antiques and have different artists sell their wares. Really, really cool stuff. The best part is it's only 30 minutes from my house. A beautiful drive by the way, they do seasonal shows on their property in their barn. We got this picture taken by Elise Liptack of Elise Marie Photography she had this area set up with a bunch of different chairs. It was quite beautiful.
We found another barn sale just down the road on an awesome property!
We then headed over to one of my favorite stores called The Spare Room and saw this little beauty, but alas it was already sold. Didn't matter I didn't have the money anyways but it's nice to dream:)
Then we ended up eating at this greasy dive and will not be going back ever again. Let's just say we saw the cook digging in a jar of olives with his bare hands and then putting them on Vil's plate.lol Gross! We made some good memories that day, thanks ladies for a fun day:) I love going to fun little shops and events like that and this Saturday I will be attending the "Ruffles and Rust" show in Monroe and I'm super excited! My Sweet Savannah will be one of the first booths I will be hitting when I get there:) I have been truly inspired by the season and getting lots of inspiration from all the shops and blogs I visit. I've been decorating around the house a little I haven't taken many pics but I will add some later but for right now here's a couple.
My mantle has changed twice already and I'm still not happy with it.

Let me know what you think:)

We're back!

Thank you so much for the followers that have hung around, and thank you to Ash who spent hours debugging the computer. Ugh! computer stuff can be so stressful! Anyways I don't know if I have it in me to catch you all up on summer stuff, so I thought I would just start with the kiddo's first day of school. Prestin started third grade and Tatum started second grade on Sept. 7th, Avery started Kindergarten on the 8th and Madi started Pre-K today! All of the kids were excited to start school, especially since they were starting a new school. We were able to transfer them to a brand new school and feel incredibly blessed, because this school will be able to offer them so much more. We have also, with much prayer, made the decision to stay here in WA. We are completely at peace with this decision and know in our hearts that we are on the right path. We would like to ask for your continued prayer as we feel the Lord is leading Ash into the ministry. He starts classes at the end of this month, which is another huge blessing that the Lord has provided. We are excited for this next phase of our lives and can't wait to see how the Lord is going to work. We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers!

Missing you

I just was checking in and just wanted to say how much I miss my cute little blog:(
I wish I could post some pics but I promise their is a cure in the works, please hang on just a little bit longer. I swear their is so much I want to show you! Right now we know nothing about our move to AZ, it's pretty much at a standstill. So we're just waiting on the Lord.

We're still alive.

We are still alive but barely able to keep our heads above water:) It has been a VERY busy couple of weeks and it doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon. Tomorrow is our friends' wedding and we have been busy helping with preparations in any way we can. I am so excited for tomorrow, it's going to be so much fun! And the following week is VBS, I can't believe it's here already. I feel I am already exhausted from VBS and it hasn't even started yet. Lots and lots of prep work to get ready for the big day, but it's all going to pay off when we see the looks on the kids faces. So many people have volunteered their time and talents, it's going to look amazing. I will be sure to take lots of pics, although it might be a while before I can post them... stupid computer. So anyways, Ainsley turned three on the 30th, she is the sweetest thing ever! I took her to get her hair cut, she has the cutest little bob. I wish I could post a pic of her...stupid computer:( But just know that she looks ADORABLE! And Sweet Sadie Lynn is going to be one on the 19th. She is on the verge of walking any day now and then WATCH OUT cause here she comes! I love her but she is definitely my most needy child, so any independence for her is extremely exciting for me. It's definitely weird for me to be saying goodbye to the baby days. I have been pregnant or nursing for the last ten years, I'm scared my body is going to go into shock and not know what to do with itself, which I will happily accept if it means I will be losing 20 pounds:) Actually I have already made it to the ten month mark and have happily passed it by two months already. Every ten months I have gotten pregnant, not on purpose, that is just the way things have happened and I am beginning to get excited for all the possibilities that will be opening up to me now. For instance, no more nursing bras! Can I get an AMEN! I can't wait to buy some pretty lingerie as well as having a little more freedom. Having my body to myself is nice too. I turn 30 in another month and I must say I am looking forward to this next phase in my life, and just to let you know as I write this I am knocking on wood.

Wow it has been far too long, thank you so much for sticking with this blog if anyone still reads it. We are all doing really well, except for my computer, again I am hijacking Ash's laptop because my computer won't let me log in to any of my personal accounts(ex. email, facebook, blog). I actually managed one time to get on to my blog and was so excited only to find out it wouldn't allow me to post any pictures. So this won't be a very visual blog for a while, but I see hope in the near future regarding my computer situation so please be patient with me. To catch you up on events here at the Farley household I recently went on an awesome trip to The Farm Chick's Show and had so much fun! I was like a kid in a candy store:) Tatum lost a tooth, Ash turned 30 in May, I had a wonderful Mother's Day, me and Ash also celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in May, woo hoo! Avery graduated from preschool, Tatum and Prestin just got out of school on Thursday with wonderful report cards I might add, I was most proud of the teacher's comments regarding their character and today we celebrated a very special guy! Happy Father's Day Ash you are such a blessing to us!

Going into this summer we will be very busy, we have a couple weddings this summer and Ash is a groomsman for one of them, VBS is in a couple weeks, I am in charge of crafts this year. Please pray for me it's my first time being a lead teacher for VBS and I want to do a really good job. Ainsley is turning three on the 30th and then Sadie will be one on July 19th, man that flew by! Then camp is in July as well, where Ash will be going as a counselor. Then right after that we have Prestin who will be turning nine and I will be turning the big 3 0 in August. Add in a few barbeques, playdates and birthday parties for friends and you have one full calendar. And on top of all that we have had a very heavy weight on our shoulders, I have asked for prayer for a while now and I thank you for those prayers. We have been contemplating a move back to AZ for a few months now, it all happened on our way back home from a recent visit to AZ to see family. We both thought that maybe we should move back to AZ but wanted God's will above all else. A few days later when Ash returned back to work he was asked whether he would ever want to move back to AZ, it was a complete surprise. From then on it seems as though doors have been opening for us through Ash's job. Although it seems that this might be the path God has laid out for us we are unsure and torn with what to do, we still don't have a complete peace about it and don't want to act according to our wants and desires. Which as of late those wants and desires have become very hazy for us. We don't know all the specifics regarding when we would be moving, we do know however that it would be in the fall and that we would be moving to Flagstaff. We would be about two hours from family and friends back home and it would be nice to be able to get together more often than we do now. But I must admit there is a tugging in our hearts whether it is the right move for us. While we dislike the gray weather very much here in Washington we have made some wonderful friends that we have come to call family and a church that is like a second home to us. We have been challenged and grown in our walks with the Lord and looking back on our time here I have not regretted one thing about this three year adventure! It has all been a wonderful experience that has helped me to find out more about myself than ever before and I thank God for this time. So with that said we have been praying that God would help us to know what to do, while doors have been opening should we be walking through them or shutting them? Is this season of being in Washington over for us, is it time to go back? Have we accomplished or even figured out why the Lord may have brought us here? And if not are we leaving with unfinished business? These and many more are the questions we have been asking ourselves a lot lately and it's heavy stuff for us right now. And now that you know the specifics we ask that you would continue to pray for us. I didn't share before because of all the wishy washiness(yes that is a word in my vocabulary) of the situation, and it's hard to be asked for details when you are waiting on the Lord to give you those answers and He hasn't revealed them in their entirety yet. I am sure their will be more twists and turns to this story and I thank you for all the support that we have gotten along the way.

Hey there everyone I know it's been a while, but my computer is on the fritz right now and I've had to hijack Ash's just to let you all know that I haven't forgotten about you. There's been lots of things going on, not a lot of answers but a lot of work behind the scenes that God is slowly revealing to us. He is definitely doing a work on my heart and I am excited for what He is doing and anticipating what He is about to reveal to us. Please keep us in your prayers!

Sorry for the delay people, I was catching up on season 3 of "Lost" and then my computer has been really slow so I haven't been in the blogging mood. But I am back now and as for the rest of my days in AZ I didn't take anymore pics because it was pretty much just shopping and eating at favorite restaurants and who really wants to see me eating? But I would like to ask for your prayer in a very important decision we are trying to make for our family. I'm not pregnant, I know that's what you were all wondering:) I'm not going to say what it is just yet, but I would ask specifically that you would pray for Ash. That God would give him discernment and wisdom, and to know without any question what God is calling him to do. For me, that I would be patient as Ash is waiting on the Lord, to live for each day and not try to figure out every single detail with this situation. To just let it be, to let God work and to let it unfold in His timing. It has been an exciting time, but also a time of questioning and reflection, we just so want to do His will and not our own. It would be greatly appreciated!

AZ: Day 5

Day five was more of a relaxed day, my sister had school and Ash was on a two day business trip due to come back that evening. So my bro-in-law Stephen and I took the kids to the playground near their house.
There is tons of playground equipment and my kids decide instead to climb a tree, they are truly monkeys.

Here's Stevie-weevie, he loves it when I call him that:)

Cutie patootie

After we got done at the playground we went back to the house and played with sidewalk chalk. I had the kids lay down and I traced them and then they colored them in.
Here they are with their masterpieces.

Erin came home from school and being the big kid that she is wanted to play too.

Erin was snapping pics of the kids while laying on the ground, they're so silly!

See the guy across the street holding the shovel?

He was guarding this.
We had all watched as this snake slithered up their driveway. All my life growing up in AZ I have never seen a rattlesnake, it was kind of creepy being so close to one. The fire dept. came and took it away.
After that my mom, Stephen and Tyler watched the kiddos so that me and Erin could go shopping, thanks guys!

We ended the day with yummy Macayo's mexican food and this little cutie was for dessert:)

AZ: Day 4

Madi's birthday fell on this day, so we had a little party for her that turned into a pretty silly night for everyone. My sister picked up a cake and we had my grandparents and brother over to help celebrate. Here Ainsley is having fun trying on my Grandpa's glasses. This was just the beginning of all the silliness to come.
Grandma Cookie and Avery with a cheekful of food, these two have always had a special bond.
Now enters silliness with a food fight between Tyler and Madi. Tyler getting Madi.

The spectators.

Chocolate lip gloss, ooh la la!
Madi getting Tyler.

Look at Ainsley eating from the cake while everyone is distracted.

Tyler strikes back. BOO!
But then Madi tagged in Aunt Erin for a little smackdown!

Tatum was an unfortunate casualty of war.

PRESENT TIME!!!

The night got sillier when my sister was talking about how she should decorate one of the niches in her wall. I suggested we throw a pillow and blanket in it and make it a bed for one of the kids to sleep in. Then I thought that my Grandma, being a petite person, could probably fit in there as well so we told her to try. She was a good sport about it, lol.
The night ended with this sweet moment of Uncle Tyler reading a bedtime story to the kiddos. By the looks of things Madi and Tyler were friends again:)
