And see this is what happens when I get on the computer and look at all my blogs that I love, when I should be cleaning, I find things that I want. Like this from Lisa Leonard Designs

I can totally see mine and Ash's initials on the little tree stump and better yet we don't have to hurt a tree, it would just hurt the wallet a little bit. Ahh maybe someday.

And from The Vintage Pearl
This necklace would be perfect for all my kiddo's initials

I'm still here

I have not finished my glitter house yet. It still needs to be glittered and I haven't gone to the craft store to get more glitter. Honestly, it hasn't been a priority, it's been sitting on top of my armoire waiting for me to finish it. I see it every day gathering dust and say tomorrow I'll finish it. And day by day it gets shoved back on my to-do-list along with a hundred other things. And the reason I can't finish it is because of this cute little culpritOh how I love this child but never have I had someone so attached to me as she has been. My house has literally gone into disarray even as I write this post I feel a little guilty, that this is not really important right now and that so much needs to be done. But I know that it's been a while since I've posted so I thought I'd take some time to catch everyone up. Sadie is almost seven months, she's teething, just starting to sit up, she loves to look at herself in the mirror, she won't let me out of her sight and rarely lets anyone else hold her. I can barely put her down for five minutes or she starts crying and not just any cry, I can usually tune out crying pretty well, but her cry is more of a scream and sends shivers up my spine. I have no idea what the neighbors must think and honestly am surprised CPS has not been called because of the noise coming from my house.lol I know this is just a short time but it feels like it will never end. She is truly such a joy to our family and is a very happy child, but rarely do the nursery workers at our church get to see that side of her. Sorry guys:) Nap times and bed time are my favorite part of the day and it feels like I'm sprinting from room to room just to get a few things done before she gets up, all along the rest of the kids are following behind undoing everything I've just cleaned up. There are some rooms that don't even get touched for weeks, I literally close the doors and say clean! Out of sight, out of mind. And then at night after she goes to bed I clock out for the day and just want to crash on the couch, ignoring the massive load of dishes that are waiting for me or the piles of laundry that need to be folded. And this to shall pass, so be patient with me I will get the crafts posted but don't be surprised if it takes me a while. I have also added something pretty fun to my to-do-list, or maybe I'm the only one who thinks it's fun. I bought this at a little antique store for a steal and am super excited about it.Oh I have big plans for this little baby, I want to turn it into a little sweet shoppe/bakery. I got the inspiration from Turkey feathers blog you should check it out, just click on dollhouse bakery under Categories on the left side of her page and you can see all the amazing things she's made for her little bakery. And unashamedly, yes this is my dollhouse.hee hee I will post pics of the renovations as I go, meanwhile I am planning Tatum's 7th birthday party. We are having the party this Saturday, we're doing a strawberry themed party. Let me tell you I have been thinking of hundreds of things I can do with strawberries. I love planning parties and this has been a lot of fun for me. I promise to take a bunch of pics.

Getting crafty

So I know Christmas is over but I didn't even start these until a few days after Christmas. I guess I'm just not ready to let Christmas go yet. As I was taking down all our Christmas decorations I started organizing them for next year. There were a few ornaments that I didn't use this year because of the color scheme I chose, and I hate to waste anything. So I decided to give them a facelift, I regret not taking before pictures for some of them but I think you'll get the idea. I'm also working on some other crafts that aren't quite finished so there will be a few more Christmas crafts coming your way very soon.

Before: I had dropped this guy and broke his nose our first Christmas and haven't used him since, the stars were yellow and he had this ugly tree glued to him

After: So I painted the stars blue, added glitter and a silver pipe cleaner around his neck, took off the ugly tree and he got a nose job with some orange paint..

These guys all got facelifts as well. I painted all their noses the same color orange to match the other guy. The stars on the snowmen used to be painted yellow, so I painted them blue and added glitter, the trees got flocked with some white paint and glitter, and the guy in the middle is very happy to be reunited with his brothers.

This last guy was a little more rustic, you can kind of see on his face what color he used to be.

So I painted him white, repainted the buttons, face and stars, added glitter(because glitter makes everything better)and gave him a cute little scarf. Doesn't he look happy?

This last project was a lot of fun, I've been wanting glitter houses for some time now, my Grandma Caggiano had a set made into ornaments by her mother for a wedding present,(my grandparents got married on Christmas Eve my grandpa carried her and a christmas tree through the doorway on their honeymoon because she couldn't wake up Christmas morning without a Christmas tree I guess that's where my obsession for Christmas trees comes from.lol)I'd love to have those ornaments someday. Over the years they have become really popular and have gotten very expensive. Here are some examples of ones that I would love to have but could never justify buying, all of these are well over $60.00.

I bought this at the grocery store at an after Christmas sale for a little over $3.00. It was cute but I saw that it had more potential.

And here's the afterSorry my picture is kind of fuzzy, I now completely understand why these houses cost so much. The time it takes to paint and add all the details is very time consuming. Not to mention I didn't even make the house itself. I've tried to make these houses from scratch before and I just didn't have the patience. I think it turned out pretty cute. I just need to cut a hole in the back so I can put a light inside. I'm working on another one right now but I have run out of glitter, so it's on hold until I can get some more. I'll post pics as soon as I can, it's adorable.

Christmas was very fun this year, I'm a little sad to see it go. I love to decorate my house for the season. I used to do traditional red and green but this year decided to use my favorite colors red and pale blue/aqua and of course glittery snowmen. It's very cheerful to me. So here's just a few of my favorite things.

Cookie plates and cookie jar.
I love my red Kitchen Aid! It was a Christmas present from Ash a few years ago.

Hot chocolate station, we've consumed at least a couple gallons this month.
New bowls from dear friends.
A star I bought for $4.00 a few years ago that I spray painted white and added glitter to.
Special ornaments.
Our next door neighbor Holly, at our first home gave me this ornament for Prestin's first Christmas. I love it very much.

This one is from my sister, also very special to me.
Our first Christmas together as a married couple.
My friend Vil had this made for us last year.
The snowman is not actually an ornament but I stuck him in there anyways as well as a plate that looks like a peppermint candy and these pipe cleaner candycanes that Ainsley and Madi made at church that I arranged so that they make a heart.

No special reason I just really like this little guy.
And my new favorite, a little chocolate cake.
I love to decorate our Christmas tree, if I could I'd have one in every room of the house but I don't know how Mr. Boo would feel about that. The tree needs a little more blue but is still very pretty to me.

We've never had enough stockings for our family so this year I bought these for .99 cents each. They worked out alright but I would like to try and make ones for each member of the family for next year. Add that to my to-do-list.

And of course my advent calendar I made last year.
Love you all and hope you have a very Happy New Year!

Movie reviews

It was 13 degrees this morning when I was taking the kids to school, I think that's all I need to say about that.
So I forgot to tell you all how the movie was, unfortunately it wasn't very good. I've read all the books and the movies never measure up. The actors aren't all that great(sorry to all those die hard fans). I went with about 7 or 8 girls who've all read the books, we laughed throughout the movie at all the bad acting. And what's up with some of the actors wearing wigs, and bad ones at that! Even though we felt it wasn't all that great we all agreed when "Eclipse" comes out we will still go and see it. I know, it doesn't make any sense.:) So anyways that is one of the few movies that I've seen in the theaters in a long time. Lately we've been Red boxing it, hey you can't go wrong for just a buck. Here's some of the most recent that I've seen.

Hilarious

So sweet, definitely one of my all time favorites.

I just got done with this one and I loved it!

These last two movies are really sweet, what I loved most about these two movies is the relationships between married couples. Carl and Ellie in "Up" and Julia(Meryl Streep) and Paul, their marriages aren't fancy or overly romantic(which is just not realistic or practical but occasionally is nice). There is a mutual respect and equal partnership, and it's so sweet to see how much the husbands love and adore their wives and vice versa. I love seeing love portrayed like this even if one is a cartoon.lol The next movie on my list is the new Harry Potter! These movies however do a great job at sticking to the books and I am literally going crazy waiting to see it.

Princess of the Potty

She'll hate me later for putting these pics up.

Well I'm all done potty training Ainsley. She's actually been done for awhile and has been doing great. She caught on quickly and is very proud of herself as am I. She was sick today, while we were waiting for the kids to get out of school she threw up all over herself. Luckily it was mainly contained to her and her car seat. Let me tell you what a joy it is to clean up a car seat full of puke. I have noticed that this blog is full of my kids bodily fluids, sorry:) So any who Sadie is quite the chunk and I know I need to put more pics of her on here. I'll have to do a whole Sadie post next time. She is over 15 lbs. now and has two teeth on the bottom. She is rapidly losing all her hair, I knew she would. We are all doing well, and despite today's little mishap we are all in good health. It's supposed to snow on Saturday, yuck! But the kids are excited, I think I'm going to hibernate this winter. We've been getting ready for Christmas, we decorated the tree and that's pretty much all the decorating we've done this year. We had a very nice Thanksgiving, we went to our Pastor's house Thanksgiving day and then to Connie and Shane's the day after. All in all a very nice Thanksgiving shared with people we love and who love us back. I thank God that He provided such wonderful friends for us here that have turned into family. I love how He takes care of all the details, we just need to sit back and wait on Him.
