Finally!

I know for some time now I have been saying that I was going to start a blog, so no more excuses here it is. I'm going to add a family pic as soon as I can get us all together, which might not happen seeing how it is impossible to get everyone to look at the camera at the same time. This morning as we were getting ready to take Prestin to school I was surprised to see a blanket of fog, luckily we are only two blocks from Prestin's school so I didn't have to drive in it for too long. But as the day went on it became nice and sunny. The weather has been in the seventies here. It's been really nice, but I know it's about to change come October. Everyone tells us that it changes overnight, so we're just waiting for the cold. The trees are changing colors to beautiful reds, oranges and yellows. It really is nice to see the changing of seasons here. Prestin has been doing really well with kindergarten. He has the nicest teacher, Mrs. Schultz and a really nice Principal. It started out where I was waiting with Prestin while he stood in line by his classroom, but as the days go by he wants me there less and less. So today I just drove up to the front of the school and he got out and walked to his class by himself. I admit it was a little gutwrenching as I watched him go but I am glad that he likes school so much. And truthfully it's a lot easier not to have to get all the kids out of carseats. It's really cute as well because Zippie waits for him to get home from school every day and then runs out to greet him. Here's a few pics of him on his first day. Tatum had a little trouble with him gone but has gotten used to it. She has become a little artist lately, all she wants to do is sit at the kitchen table and color or do crafts. I put a bunch of stickers and paper together in a box, all left over from my scrapbooking and she glues to her hearts content. Prestin is quite the artist as well, he brought home this picture he drew from school yesterday. He says it's an alien, it's so cute I'm going to scrapbook it in this album I'm starting for his first year of school. I'm not quite finished with the front yet, but here's what it looks like so far. So anyways tomorrow is Avery's birthday and I can't believe she's going to be three already. You always hear that saying from everyone that it goes by so fast, and you know it really does! Madi is growing up so fast as well, yesterday she said Diego, which she got from that cartoon Go Diego, Go!, it sounds more like doogo but I know what she's saying. She also loves this new show on Nickelodeon called Yo Gabba Gabba!, it's cute to watch her dance to the songs which are pretty catchy by the way. I've caught myself watching it and Ash likes it too. She also decided that yesterday was the day she was going to go down the stairs all by herself and she did great! Hopefully she'll get the hang of it and I won't have to take her down every time she goes up the stairs, although I am getting a pretty good workout. And little Ainsley is just a doll, she's really chunking up. I took her to her doctor's appointment for her two month checkup and she was a little over thirteen pounds. Ash is doing well at his job, since we've been here all he's been doing is cleaning up messes but it's definitely getting better. We have the company picnic this Saturday so it'll be nice to get out, hopefully it doesn't rain. We might be coming down in October, around the 21st for Ash's family reunion. But we need to see if Ash will be able to get the time off and now that Prestin is in school we have to work around that as well. Plus, we aren't really looking forward to traveling with five kids for such a long trip. It wasn't fun the first time with four coming up here so I know it won't be fun with five. But I think the excitement of seeing everyone is making the thought a little easier. And if anyone is interested me and Ash have not been out by ourselves for a very long time so we are welcome for babysitters when we get there, ha ha( please!!). As for me I had a really nice birthday, Ash and the kids got me the most beautiful cake. At our grocery store there is the most wonderful bakery, the women that work there are very talented and I always comment to Ash how beautiful everything looks so he and the kids surprised me with one of their cakes. I almost didn't want to eat it, I wish I could put it on a shelf and look at it always. But we dove in and it tasted as good as it looked. So anyways this is turning into a really long blog, I'll be blogging as much as I can so check back often. Just real quick I just got up to see what the kids were doing and this is what I found. Avery decided she wanted some cake and was feeding Madi from this spatula. There was more than half a cake here and now look at it! This is a cake I made for dessert the other night not the birthday cake. So anyways got to go to the grocery store.

  1. You're so sweet! My blog background is actually one of the templates that you can choose from on blogspot.com. I have no idea how to change my backgrounds either and would love to find out. I can change the colors, but don't know how to do the pretty patterns that everyone else does. If you look at my list of blogs on the side of my blog, there is one called Apples on a Stick. She knows how to do her own and would be a good one to ask. Let me know what you find out...

By the way, all of my family is in AZ as well!

  3. Ash was always popular with the girls in grade school. Pre-K was a little girl named Jolie, she always wanted Ash to come home with her. I can see why Theresita would like Prestin too, he's just really handsome! Prestin, Tatum, Avery, Madi, and Ainsley We miss you and love you very much. We miss Ash and Danielle too. You're doing a great job.
