So we wanted to share a very important day in the Farley family, Prestin's baptism! He asked Jesus Christ into his heart on January 13th, 2009 here at home. We had been reading a book about dinosaurs that he had gotten from the library at his school. Believing in the Bible as we do lots of the things that the scientists in the book were saying did not correlate with what we believe, so Prestin had a lot of questions and I was able to talk with him and clear up those misunderstandings. We had a great discussion and Prestin started understanding how amazing the Lord's creation really is and more importantly what the Lord had done for him and everyone in the world. At the end of the conversation with tears in his eyes he asked how Jesus could live in his heart and right then and there he prayed that prayer that would give him eternal life. It was a very amazing experience for me and I was honored that the Lord let me be part of it. As a believer in Jesus Christ we believe that you can't get to Heaven by baptism or good works alone, it's a free gift and all you need to do is receive it. If you believe in Jesus Christ alone and have faith that he lived, died on the cross for our sins, and then rose again , you to can be saved. Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" John 14:6. Later we talked to Prestin about getting baptized, which we believe is a show of our faith to everyone that we have accepted the Lord as our personal Saviour, and as shy as he is I was surprised at how quickly he said he wanted to do it. So here is the video of that day and one of the many proud moments in Ash's life as he does the honors. We hope you all enjoy!
