Random Acts of Kindness

Image found here
Did you know that last week was National Random Acts of Kindness Week?  I'm a little late, but this has got me so excited!  What a wonderful way to minister to our family and friends of Christ's love, but also how exciting is it to show perfect strangers His love. So come on are you with me, let's make this week a week of kindness and every week for that matter. Let's leave cookies in our mailbox for the mailman/woman or take some to the fire station or police dept. and let them know how much they're appreciated and more importantly how much Jesus loves them.  Pay for the person behind you at the drive thru at Starbucks or McDonald's and pass along a note of kindness. I can think of so many more, but these will get us started anyways, and get your kids involved.  Let's show these people we're crazy, crazy in love for the Lord! I'd love to hear how everyone is showing acts of kindness this week, leave a comment below and put it as anonymous if you'd like.  I think it would be fun and an encouragement to others.  Have fun this week!

I lovely love this!

So if any of you are a fan of the show Yo Gabba Gabba like our family is, I know you will appreciate this story.  One of the creators of the show has a daughter that was born with some very serious health issues and as we all know that usually comes with some pretty hefty medical bills.   Heather over at Blessed Little Nest has posted a lovely story of this family and has shown us a way that we can all help, Merilee of the Etsy shop Tuesday Morning, who created these lovely prints from the lyrics of the song above, is donating all the proceeds from these prints to the Shultz family to help cover their medical expenses.  And as a bonus when you purchase one of these Lovely Love prints she is offering you one free print of your choice.  But you need to hurry, it only lasts until this Sunday!  I just ordered this sweet print

And got this one free!

And please keep this family in your prayers:)

Happy Friday

Yummy, yummy cocoa puffs!
Daddy with just some of his loves.
Our Valentine's to each other.

The Library finally got it back in, so I rushed over to pick it up. I'm sure it will be devoured in a day:)
Our little love:)

He's looking to us

Thanks for the love!

So I wanted to post an answer to a question I got yesterday about donating clothes to the orphans through Reece's Rainbow.  I emailed Andrea over at RR, she said they do not have a specific ministry for clothing donation but that you could donate it to Life2orphans.  Thank you so much for the inquiry Berry Girl, that is an awesome way to help and I hope this info helps:)

On a side note I want to thank Courtney over at A Thoughtful Place for featuring my mommy tip on her blog today, I am just a little excited!  If you'd like to see it click here!

Have a Happy, Happy Day!!!

Calling all Prayer Warriors!

I'd like to introduce you to Vladislav K.!  He is a three year old little boy with Down Syndrome.  Yes, I said boy, at the orphanages in Eastern Europe they don't care what they dress them in:(  I am asking for your help, I have signed up through  Reece's Rainbow to become his prayer warrior, and would love it if you would lift this little guy up in prayer as well.  He needs a family of his own and he is running out of time!  By the age of four (which will be next December for him) this little guy will be taken from the orphanage, the only home he has ever known, and sent to an institution where he will never be able to be adopted.  In the first year of being institutionalized 95% of these children will DIE!  Some due to not receiving any medical care whatsoever, but mostly due to starvation.  Please, please pray for him, if you would like to donate to him please click on the link above.  And if you would like more info about becoming a prayer warrior yourself please click here.  It is absolutely free to become a prayer warrior, they will match you up with a child in need and will keep you posted on their progress.  We can't all adopt, we can't always give, but we can always pray!

And I finally added some cute files to my Willow House file organizer, Denise would be proud:)  Now it's cute and tidy.  Sorry for the fuzzy pics:(

Thank you

How do you thank someone properly who has shown you complete and selfless kindness, and oh by the way we've never met.  I had ordered a print for my Mom and was so excited about it I just had to thank the artist and let her know what joy it brought me.  In complete honesty I had no idea that my response could be read by others, I thought it  was sent directly to the artist's personal email, shows you how little I know what I am doing when I'm on the computer:)  The story goes something like this... a while back my Mom shared with me some struggles she was going through, on one of these harder days she had gone to McDonald's to get a sweet tea and while she was waiting in the drive thru she paused for a moment to pray that God would provide for her needs and that He would take care of her.  When she looked up she noticed a little sparrow dancing around on top of the SUV in front of her.  It had just found a french fry and was apparently loving life at that moment.  As my Mom watched this she knew right then that the Lord had heard her prayer and had let her know that He was going to take care of her just like He takes care of the birds of the air.   Shortly after she shared this story with me I came upon this print that I thought was a perfect reminder for her to never forget what God had shown her on that day.

Never in a million years did I expect anything from the comment I left, I just needed to tell the artist how she and her art had been used to be a blessing to me and I hope to my Mom as well.  But  I was to be blessed yet again by a sweet lady named Jane, who had read  my response and was touched by the story.  And said that she would love to treat me to a print of my choice.  I am so beyond humbled by this act of kindness, I can't even begin to tell you what this means to me.  Jane, thank you from the bottom of my heart, I will forever remember this act of kindness when I look at this print:)  Jane also has a wonderful etsy shop called Sew Plain Jane it is so adorable, you must check it out!

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.  Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not much more valuable than they?  Matthew 6:25 & 26
